What capacity should I plan, and how many cocktail tables for a networking cocktail?

Our venues host anywhere from a few dozen guests to several hundred depending on the address. In a standing format, the rule of thumb is roughly one cocktail table per 8 to 10 guests: enough to put a glass down, not enough for groups to settle in. Tell us your numbers and your format, and your contact will point you to the right venue and layout.

Are the cocktails, the catering and the bar included?

Yes: everything is included and everything happens on site. Our Chef creates the canapés, the dinner-style cocktail menu and the bar list, using local, seasonal produce. No caterer to source, no bartender to hire, no supplier to bring into the venue: one line in your quote, one team on the night. Dietary requirements and allergies are handled on request.

Do you have a rooftop or a terrace for the warmer months?

Yes, several of our addresses have a terrace or a rooftop available for private hire, a setting that makes people want to stay and that naturally extends conversations. And because the weather cannot be booked, every outdoor set-up comes with an indoor fallback planned from the quote stage: your evening never depends on the sky.

How are my guests welcomed on the night: check-in, cloakroom, hosts?

What time and which day should a networking afterwork be held?

The most effective slot is mid-week, Tuesday to Thursday, with a welcome around 6.30pm and an evening ending around 10pm. Late enough for people to finish work, early enough that nobody leaves before the end. If your guests are senior executives, a networking breakfast from 8 to 10am often gets better attendance: both formats work in our venues.

How far in advance should I book a networking event venue?

Accepted Answer

Ideally a few weeks ahead, so you get your pick of address and date: end-of-day slots go fast in spring and autumn. That said, we regularly host evenings put together in a matter of days. And once the date is locked, you stay flexible: guest numbers can be adjusted right up to the day before.
