Comet Meetings’ eighth Paris venue combines the charm of a listed building with the boldness of a new approach to corporate events.
Paris, 15 May 2025 — Behind a listed neo-Gothic façade, Le Grand Comet stands apart. A 19th-century former hospital with the look of a château, the building was first entirely restructured by its owner, the Hertford British Charitable Fund (HBCF), working with Maud Caubet Architectes and main contractor Fayat Bâtiment, before Comet, the European specialist in corporate events for 2 to 500 people, completed the transformation of its interiors. The result: a château unlike any other, where historic refinement meets the boldness of a set design inspired by the colourful, pop world of Wes Anderson, the American film-maker.
Contemporary and chic in equal measure, Le Grand Comet sets a new benchmark for large-scale corporate events: off-sites, training sessions, cocktail receptions, summer parties, team building and conferences. A venue designed and run to bring people together, inspire them and make professional exchange easier, without the financial, logistical and environmental constraints of events held far from the city.
From hospital to events venue: a château reinvented for business
Built in 1877 by the architect Paul-Ernest Sanson and originally funded by Sir Richard Wallace, the British philanthropist behind the famous Paris drinking fountains, the château is a valuable witness to the architectural heritage of the Paris region. Comet is launching a new facet of its business here, blending that heritage with cinematic references to the world of The Grand Budapest Hotel. Built around the idea of a hotel, the interior design borrows its visual codes: a key rack, a lift attendant, a reception desk. The whole is embodied by a cast of characters, known as « residents », whose personalities inspire and shape the interiors of each floor. Madame Paulson, Messrs Wallace and Brown and Mademoiselle Agatha each give their space a unique, immersive identity.
The new venue, named Le Grand Comet as a nod to the Wes Anderson film, spans 1,800 sq m over three floors, with 11 modular rooms filled with natural light and a 1,000 sq m private garden. All just minutes from Paris on metro line 3. An elegant, memorable and unique playing field for off-sites, training sessions, workshops, cocktail receptions and team building.

Designed to host up to 110 people seated or 300 standing, Le Grand Comet is ERP-certified, like every Comet Meetings venue. The venue is conceived and run to answer the needs of companies that want to make an impression on their stakeholders, bring them together, entertain or inform them, without the logistical complexity that usually comes with events. A project serving the public interest
Le Grand Comet is at once a heritage, social and innovation project. The Hertford British Charitable Fund, which owns the building, is a century-old association dedicated to supporting people with a connection to Great Britain whose wellbeing is at risk or who face serious hardship.
The rental income generated by the HBCF will allow it to continue funding associations and other charitable works, keeping Sir Wallace’s legacy alive in France.
