Comet is expanding its original Paris venue: Comet Ternes gains a floor, grows to 1,616 sq m and will host up to 299 people.
Running counter to all-remote working and the emptying of office buildings, Comet continues to maximise its occupancy rate thanks to environments designed for a hybrid approach, with plenty of room for collective moments. The French leader in meeting and event venues is adapting and expanding its original site, Comet Ternes, opened in the 17th arrondissement of Paris in 2017, to meet companies' new expectations in terms of third places and event hosting. With an additional floor and increased capacity, the extension of Comet Ternes further expands the total surface area operated by the company (400,000 sq m) and reflects growing demand for hybrid formats and flexibility in working practices and workspaces.
The transformation of Comet's first venue, a mirror of the company's trajectory
The first site Comet launched when it was founded, Comet Ternes (Paris 17th arrondissement) opened in 2017 and offered a new experience of meetings and seminars, in a design-led space enriched with a broad range of services: catering, snacking, technical assistance and wellness sessions.
Seven years on, new practices in meetings, corporate events and hybrid working have confirmed Comet's vision. The company has opened 13 addresses in total (11 in Paris, 1 in Brussels and 1 in Madrid) and has just announced 30% revenue growth for 2023, proving the relevance of its model and a forward-looking identity already visible at Comet Ternes. Its expertise in meetings, events and hybrid working is now widely recognised, and its original offer has been extended with two complementary ones: Comet Workplaces and Comet Hospitality.
Closed for works since 20 December 2023, Comet Ternes will gradually reopen from March to mid-May 2024. Clients will find the original interior design inspired by space travel, a nod to Comet's identity.
For Victor Carreau, co-founder and CEO of Comet, the new face of Comet Ternes also marks a new stage of growth for the hybrid working specialist: "Investing in the extension of a site is already a very positive signal. But investing in the extension of our very first site, opened in 2017 when Comet was launched, is also highly symbolic. It means not only that our portfolio is performing and expanding, but also that we apply a logic of continuous improvement to serve our clients ever better. Historically focused on meetings, we have embraced the corporate events segment for several years now, and this new face of Comet Ternes reflects the maturity of our answer to that steadily growing need."
Comet Ternes: spaces reworked and enlarged for the new practices brought by hybrid working
With an additional floor, Comet Ternes grows from 1,475 to 1,616 sq m and will be able to host up to 299 people, compared with 199 previously across the three original levels.

The third floor recently added to Comet's footprint includes a 193 sq m meeting room and a 50 sq m terrace, both available for private hire. The ground, first and second floors will be adapted to new requirements for managing the flow of guests.

Comet Ternes before the works: 1,475 sq m with a capacity of 199 people across three floors. Its fit with new practices has been entirely rethought.

Comet Ternes and its new spaces: 1,616 sq m across four floors, with a 193 sq m meeting room and a maximum capacity of 299 people. In total, 10 modular rooms and a 50 sq m outdoor space for meetings and corporate events in the heart of Paris.
New practices, new spaces
The new look of Comet Ternes, until now the smallest site in the Comet portfolio, illustrates the company's constant drive to innovate around hybrid working. While most of their teams can now work perfectly well remotely, companies express a need to build rituals around collective time on site, to help information circulate, culture develop and employees stay. They are looking in particular to bring together groups of several hundred employees in stimulating venues that encourage socialising and cooperation. This calls for larger, well-located and very well-equipped spaces, backed by a high-quality service offer.
